GREAT NEWS!!!

Our planning application for new floodlights has, after almost a year, finally been approved.

This project, which originally started about 2 years ago, has been expertly co-ordinated & managed by Arthur Creswell. The committee would like to express their sincere gratitude to Arthur for all his hard work and perseverence.

This was a complex project & involved specifying our requirements, searching for possible suppliers & designs, obtaining quotations and selecting the best / most appropriate design.

In spring 2023 we sent out a survey to all our members to guage the level of support for new floodlights. The results were very positive with 95% of all respondants in favour, and about 1/3 saying that they were unable to play during the day on weekdays due to work or other commitments. 

We also contacted our immediate neighbours to explain our plans and to point out the benefits that this would bring to the local community. We were able to demonstrate the effects of the new floodlights thanks to representatives from one of the suppliers. Again the feedback was largely positive, with no major objections. 

We submitted our application in late April 2023, but unfortunately its review was delayed in the planning office. After repeated enquiries our application was finally approved today! 

We plan to celebrate this milestone next Tuesday 25th March during our annual Club "Spruce-Up" Day.  So, please come and join us for a celebratory drink.
