Court Re-Opening
I am pleased to pass on the good news that despite being confirmed in Tier 2 we can return to our tennis courts from Wednesday 2nd December and play under the same conditions as we did prior to this latest national lockdown.
The LTA has confirmed that social play, singles and doubles, between players from different households is permitted. The rule of 6 is to be applied unless the Club has organised a particular group activity.
Social distancing is to be maintained before, during and after play for all activity.
Footwear/Court Maintenance
During lockdown the courts have been sprayed to combat the build up of moss on the surface and prevent them from becoming slippy and dangerous. Therefore it is timely to remind you to wear clean footwear, especially now that the cricket field is likely to be muddy. Please either change your footwear or use the brushes next to the court entrance to clean your tennis shoes.
Covid
The committee would like to remind you to follow the guidance that is available on the LTA and Club websites and on the Clubhouse windows.
- Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds before and after play
- If you or anyone from your household is displaying symptoms of the virus then do not access the courts for any reason
- Continue to adhere to the social distancing rules
- Use hand gel frequently. You need to provide your own hand gel
- Do not handle balls from other courts. Put identifying marks on your own balls
- Do not congregate in groups before, during or after play.
Please don't let your guard down. Stay Safe and enjoy your tennis.
