We are super excited to announce that the NTC Racket Library is officially open! We have rackets for Adults, Juniors & Minis along with tennis ball, available from Towngate Stores in the village.
Our goal is to make Tennis as accessible as possible for everyone & we hope you share our excitement in bringing the equipment to you for use. A quick FAQ & basic rules for the Racket Library to ensure it is available for everyone to use equally as follows:
The Who/What/When for Borrowing Rackets:
Who:
This is open to the public! Anyone with a court booking with Northowram Tennis Club can borrow Rackets & Tennis Balls
What:
We have 3 sizes of tennis rackets - Adult (4), Junior(2) & Mini(2), you are able to borrow as many as you need -please be courteous of others & share if need be as we have a limited supply.
We also have 2 types of tennis balls, the regular pressurized version we are more familiar with & a ‘softer’, red, tennis ball - this is great for younger players just starting to learn.
- With each racket borrowed we are lending 2 tennis balls, please try to bring these back as well (we understand that some areas are not possible to retrieve them from, let us know about it & we can collect them at a later date!)
When:
You can borrow rackets 30 minutes before your court booking, they’re yours for as long as you have the booking! Please make sure you return them promptly after use.
By Borrowing Rackets/Tennis Balls you agree to the following:
- Abide by all rules set out by Northowram Tennis Club for Court use.
- Treat the equipment kindly & not subject to improper use.
- Return racket in a timely manner (immediately after court use, if this is not possible due to store closing times, ASAP upon reopening)
- No person shall be able to borrow a racket and/or tennis balls without signing out with information requested by Club. We will require Name, Phone Number, Proof of Court Booking (this can be done via the email sent out with the code) & Time of the Court Booking. We reserve the right to ask for proof of identification at the time of borrowing.
- If you are not able to return the rackets in a timely manner, Northowram Tennis Club reserves the right to contact the borrower via the number left at the time of signing the racket out and/or information from the court booking. If there are multiple instances where a racket has not been returned when we have requested, we reserve the right to no longer lend to that borrower.
- If a racket is returned damaged due to improper use - we may ask you to replace and/or pay for that racket.
These rules are set out by Northowram Tennis Club and are subject to change as we see fit/if the need arises.
