Club

July Open Day

  • This was held on Saturday 24th July and proved to be an outstanding success. The weather was kind to us and we were supported by many club members.
  • The junior/ senior tournament, played in the American style was won by Andy Machin and the club is extremely grateful to all those players who volunteered to take part. It was very rewarding to see the juniors being partnered by senior players who offered so much support.
  • The Cake competition was won by Phillipa Hughes with a cake to die for! All the cakes were very tempting and there were long queues to sample them. Thank you to all the bakers, your efforts are much appreciated.
  • Other activities took place on court with many parents bringing along youngsters who wanted to try the game and thanks must go to Mark H and Leyton for their organisation on court.
  • The BBQ was very successful and Mark Whitelegg proved he has a job for life as master i/c of the BBQ!
  • Irene Grice and Martin Kimberley did an excellent job selling raffle tickets. Thanks to all members who donated prizes.
  • We raised £682 for a defibrillator to be stationed in the club grounds.
  • David and Jenny Harrison brought along several items of club clothing bearing the club logo and should anyone wish to purchase any of these items please contact: jennifer@houseofharrison.co.uk.
