Dear Members,
Hoping you are keeping safe and well during this time.
As you probably are aware from the latest Government advice, tennis is allowed to resume under restrictions. Luckily we have outdoor courts and these are the only tennis facilities allowed to reopen at present.
We have introduced a court booking capability through the web site, please see the booking tab, members will need to login using their LTA login. The courts may be busy due to the current limitation of maximum 2 people per court.
Following LTA advice, if you could please adhere to the following to keep yourself and others safe:
- Ensure 2 metre social distancing is maintained
- Maximum of 2 people per court, unless all players are from the same household
- Only use your own racket and tennis balls
- Avoid changing ends or change at opposite sides of the net
- No shaking hands or physical contact with other players
- Allow others to leave before you enter the court, wait away from the gates to maintain the 2 metres distance
- Follow public health guidelines for hygiene
- Do not play if you are self isolating
Due to our club being unmanned, the padlocks will remain on the gates and the public will not have access to court 1.
The clubhouse will be open for access to the toileting facilities and the first aid cupboard only.
There is no access allowed to the kitchen or ball cupboard.
Please ensure you bring your own drinks to the club when you play.
Before you touch any handles, padlocks, or the door code please use hand gel or wipes that you have brought with you to the club as we have no sensible place to locate them.
The bench on court 2 has been removed from the court as we cannot use benches currently, the bench by the clubhouse has got a do not use sign on it. There should not be any spectators at the club unless it is a parent or guardian for a child or a carer for a disabled player and should be limited to one person per player.
The nets are to be left at the playing height due to less surfaces to touch. The nets will regularly be checked that they remain at the right height.
Coaching is allowed to resume on a one to one basis adhering to the 2 metre rule at all times.
As I am sure many of you are eager to get back to playing, if we can make it fair and if the courts are full and you have been playing for more than an hour, then please can you allow the members who have just arrived a chance to play.
If you turn up and all the courts are busy and they have not been there long then please come back later, do not hang around at the club as this is not allowed at present.
Please ensure that before you go down to the club to play that you have filled in the membership form either through the link below or by printing out the one from the newsletter and posting it to Jane’s address.

Take care and stay safe
