Good Afternoon Orchard Tennis Club Member,

The committee and I hope that you and your families remain safe and well.  We are pleased to announce that the club will be reopening (hopefully for the last time...) on March the 29th provided that the government road map is maintained.  

The committee plans to gradually ease back into the swing of things over the next few months with more events and opportunities for play becoming available as the LTA guidelines become clearer and we can ensure your safety at the club.  Please ensure you read and digest the following pieces of information fully.

LTA Covid 19 Rules

The LTA summary grid is attached to this email.  The LTA guidelines which expand upon the summary are located here.  Please ensure you read them fully.  As a high level summary, singles and doubles are permitted at the club along with coaching sessions (Max 12 per court).  There is to be no access to indoor facilities (Apart from using the toilet - the clubhouse door code will be set to 77654) meaning that drinking water must be bought with players and players are not permitted to use the clubhouse for changing.  

Courts MUST be booked before play and the booking MUST include all players names - this is to maintain our track and trace system.  Any bookings without full player details will be cancelled and any players caught playing at the club without a booking will be asked to vacate the premises.  The booking system can be accessed here or via the Orchard Tennis Club website.  Please let Steve Pantall (steve.pantall@gmail.com) know if you have any booking issues.  There is to be no socialising at the club so please turn up on time and leave straight after your booked session.

Currently we are looking at how and when we can re-introduce social tennis and club nights.  Please watch out for further communications regarding these sessions!

Membership

As a reminder current members will have their memberships rolled over until June the 30th.  The system will be accepting membership renewals from the 1st of June 2021.  Please refer to the membership email dated Monday the 22nd of February for more information.

Junior Coaching

Junior Coaching will be starting again after Easter.  Please look out for emails from Mark Roskilly (coachingorchardtennis@gmail.com) giving more details!

Tennis Balls

Please ensure you bring your own tennis balls as the club is currently not supplying tennis balls for casual play.

Ladder League

James (james_west@hotmail.co.uk) and Shaun (Shaunwoods1717@googlemail.com) are intending on introducing the singles ladder league once again - more information to follow!  If you are keen to be included please let them know!
