In memory of Stuart West who was an Orchard Tennis club member but who also played golf, it was decided to run a Stuart West golf Cup amongst the tennis members. Ian Adams kindly organised the event at Redbourn Golf Club on 27th September. Nine gentlemen players teed off in the sunshine to be joined by one lady player for the back nine. There was the longest drive, duff shot, and closest to the hole prizes to be fought for along the way! Despite one very wet hole where we all got drenched we had a very enjoyable round followed by tasty ham, egg and chips afterwards. The overall winner was Russel Sainter and the cup was presented by Sue West (Stuart’s wife). The duff shot and longest drive trophies were won by James West (Stuart’s son). £100 was raised towards Teenager Cancer Trust. A good time was had by all and hopefully this will run again next year with more players!
