The Orchard Lawn Tennis Club (OLTC) has taken a significant step in enhancing community safety by installing a Stop the Bleed pack alongside their defibrillator cabinet, a first among tennis clubs in Hertfordshire. Generously donated by the Hearts for Herts organisation, founded and spearheaded by full-time NHS Paramedic Justin Honey-Jones, this initiative underscores OLTC's commitment to emergency preparedness.
Hearts for Herts, now a registered charity since October 2023, not only provided the Stop the Bleed pack but also offers comprehensive defibrillator training sessions free of charge to OLTC members, their families, and neighbouring residents. This invaluable training, which covers defibrillator operation and now includes instruction on utilising the contents of the Bleed pack, will extend through 2024.
