- Thanks was given to Mike Withy and Deborah Lloyd for their work on the committee and who are now stepping down.
Chairman’s Report
- Men’s Winter League
- Oxton 1 (captain: Matt Webb) came 8 th In Division 2
- Oxton 2 (capatain: Steve Lamb) came 2nd in Division 4
- Women’s Winter League
- Oxton 1 (captain: Becky Lindesay) came 6th in Division 2
- Oxton 2 (captain: Deborah Lloyd) came 6th in Division 3
- Mixed Summer League
- Oxton 1 (captain: Becky Lindesay) came 2nd in Division 3 and therefore entered the playoffs unfortuntely losing narrowly 9-7 to Port Sunlight 1
- Oxton 2 (captain: Caroline Childs) came 5th in their first season in Division 4
- Oxton 3 (captain: Deborah Lloyd) came 6th in Division 6 and have had to apply for reelection because they failed to fulfil the required number of fixtures. This was accepted at the Wirral Tennis League AGM 04/11/15
- Men’s Summer League
- Oxton 1 (captain: Matt Webb) stayed in Division1 though had to apply for reelection for failing to fulfil fixtures. This was accepted at the Wirral Tennis League AGM 04/11/15
- Oxton 2 (captain: No named captain) withdrew early on in the season. Re-election has not been sought for 2016
- Women’s Summer League
- Oxton 1 (captain: Becky Lindesay) were runners up again in Division 1. Re-election was requested and agreed at the Wirral Tennis Legue AGM 04/11/15
- Oxton 2 (captain: Deborah Lloyd) struggled for players and failed to complete their fixtures. Re-election has not been sought for 2016
Financial Report
Tennis section account total : £2720 as at October 2015.
Fundraising :
Friday Night teas £80 + £60 (£80 enabled purchase of 2x courtside benches)
Lashings cake sale: £178
End of Season do: £40 after payment for the new Plate trophies (£138)
Income Outstanding: (For Payment to Alan Richards by Caroline Child)
- Payment to account of £82 outstanding from match fees
- £40 refund from broken bench
- £40 profit from End of Season do.

It was felt that the membership of the tennis section needs to be increased. It will be placed on the committee agenda to ensure plans are in place before the start of next season e.g. open days, recruitment from other sports within the club.
The forthcoming year will also focus on exploring fundraising opportunities for the development of the courts and facilities at the club in conjuction with seeking grants.
