Park's Bonfire Event

Another successful event - raising funds towards the cost of a defibrillator for use by our members and for the community.  A big thank you to all those who supported the event. A hot supper was donated by Margaret and Alison with sweet bonfire food, toasting marshmallows and raffle prizes brought in by members and their families/friends.

Chris Freeman said, 'The weather was perfect for bonfire night.  There was such a light WSW breeze that bonfire smoke and heat went skyward instead of into people's faces.  Not only was the weather perfect but great organisation meant that the whole evening ran smoothly.  We must give thanks to the huge team effort on the night, to those who donated wood, built the bonfire, pitched in to serve hot food, and members who even washed up their own plates (and a few more besides!)'

Alison, our Treasurer, reported the raffle raising a total of £106 with voluntary contributions for the supper raising a further £123.42, making a grand total of £229.42.

At the end of the evening, thanks for everyone's support and contributions for a successful event were given by our Chair, Margaret.
