Penrith Castle Park Tennis
Try out the new tennis courts at Castle Park!
The four tennis courts at Penrith Castle Park have new surfaces, nets, posts, fencing and automated gate access. They are open year round from 8am-10pm.
Pay & Play court bookings are made on Clubspark. Courts can be booked up to 2 weeks in advance. Bookings are £6 per court per hour, with an extra £2 charged for floodlighting during darker hours.
Equipment hire (rackets and balls) for personal use is available from the park kiosk beside the courts. The kiosk is open 10am - 7pm, 7 days a week from 29 March to the end of September 2024. Cash only.
Free Park Tennis for all ages and abilities is offered weekly on Saturday mornings from 10am-11am year-round (weather dependent). Click here for information on Free Park Tennis and how to book.
Westmorland and Furness Council own and manage the tennis courts.
The refurbishment has been made possible through joint funding from Westmorland & Furness Council, Sport England, Penrith Tennis Club, Penrith Town Council, Cumbria Waste Management Environment Trust, The Hadfield Trust, and the LTA Tennis Foundation and UK Government as part of the Parks Tennis Project.
