Dear Members,
I’m sure you were all as disappointed as me when the announcement came to close all tennis clubs during the new lockdown. This meant all tennis at the club, including coaching, had to come to a stop last week until 2 December at least.
The committee and I will of course keep you informed of any changes but we do hope to reopen on Wednesday 2 December all being well. I’m aware many coaching sessions are being missed and the junior sessions especially have been paid for the term. This means that the second half of term has now been missed and is now owed to all who signed up.
Junior Classes
If we manage to reopen on 2 December and even if groups are allowed initially, this would only give us 2 ½ weeks before schools break for Christmas holidays. Therefore, I’ve decided to start junior groups back in the New Year on Thursday 7 January.
All those currently signed up and who have paid for the Autumn term will have the first part of term credited up to February half term, this means you will only be required to pay for the second half of term up to Easter.
You are not required to do anything at this stage as all children will automatically be transferred and booked into the new year classes. You will receive info and a confirmation email (including a payment request for the 2nd half of term) in the coming weeks.
Adult Classes and Private Lessons
These coaching sessions will restart as soon as the club reopens. We are obviously still unsure under what rules the club may reopen and whether groups will be allowed again initially. Whatever happens the coaches will be back and providing private lessons for all if nothing else.
Once everything becomes clearer closer to the end of lockdown, I’ll be sure to send out further info on what the coaches are able to offer.
All the best and hope to see you on court soon,
Michael Jones
