Pershore’s pink ladies raise £800 for charity

Jane Warner, Tournament Director, provided a full report on our fifth annual event:

A successful tournament was run on Wednesday 20th November at Pershore Tennis Club, where 40 ladies from around the county and further afield gathered to raise money for the Worcester Breast Unit Haven charity.  With dry weather, both the indoor and outdoor courts were used, guaranteeing a lot of tennis for everyone.  We welcomed Elaine Scrafton at lunchtime, and while the players enjoyed a lunch of chilli and jacket potatoes, Elaine brought us up to date with where the charity is and what it provides.  After a selection of puddings were served, it was time for the raffle, then back to the courts for semi finals, and the final, where the eventual winners were Caroline Badger and Holly Ross from David Lloyd Worcester, with runners up Claire Ralph from Pershore and Nila More from Bredon club.
