Tennis marathon

On 26 and 27 February 2022, the tennis marathon aims to raise money for Bright Ideas for Tennis, to support the expansion of the GB Tennis disability programme. The funds raised will be used to give opportunities to those from a wide range of disability groups to play tennis once a week and the funds raised by Theo will support the provision of ‘I Play 30’ sessions within Worcester’s catchment area, enabling our local community to directly benefit from their fundraising.

During the 24-hour Tennis Marathon, Theo has a four-hour session on court from midnight to 4 a.m. He will be accompanied by, and playing against, both Davis and Federation Cup players. This will give Theo and co the amazing opportunity to meet and play with top British Tennis players whilst fundraising at the same time.

Excitingly, if Theo and his schoolmates reach a £5,000 fundraising target, Bright Ideas will arrange for two Davis or Federation Cup players to visit his school in the Trinity term to deliver on court masterclasses for teams and take part in a Q & A session.

The players have begun their fundraising over Christmas, aiming to run or walk 216km - the distance from Worcester to Wimbledon, with further fundraising planned over the next two months leading up to the event.

Theo's Mum says: "It would be fantastic to continue to raise the profile of Tennis, support our junior member and the community with this fundraising. If you can, please do support this initiative; Theo also welcomes ideas and offers to run fundraising events and you can also make a donation via the below link to the fundraising page; please do mention Theo’s name in your donation text so that he can acknowledge your support! Many thanks."
