It is with huge thanks that we publish the latest update from committee member and men's team Captain, Dave Morris:
Many other clubs we play bemoan the role of being a team captain. At Pershore I like to see this as a privilege that should be embraced. Having a committed squad of players makes a huge difference and that’s what we have at Pershore, you make it easy for us to plan and put out teams that are competitive. Jon Guppy as our A team captain has done a fantastic job and will again lead the SWAS A team this winter as we begin our 4th consecutive winter season in the top division. In the H&W league Antony Fordham is taking over as A team captain.
Antony embodies everything that we want at Pershore, a strong focus to learn and become a better player, a willingness to do what best for the club and a burning desire to be successful. He is to my knowledge the first club junior to ever captain a Pershore men's team and it hopefully proves to all how much value we place on our talented junior players. In the SWAS league we are also entering a C team for the first time in six years so that there will be more opportunity for match play and a further route for players to gain valuable competitive experience. I am delighted to announce that Neil Thompson has agreed to be captain of this team and again he brings similar qualities to those Antony has and will I am sure be a great ambassador for our club. Allthecaptainslook forward to your continued support as we plan to continue the success we have experienced over the last few years. There is still much more we can achieve together - Dave
