On Sunday 27th January, Pershore's U16 playeed against Worcester at the Worcester Lawn Tennis Club in Northwick in the 16 & Under H&W league.  The Pershore team played a closely contested match in some challenging blustery conditions.

Players from both sides found it hard to read the changeable conditions on court and were evenly matched. Aaron Masih lost his singles match to Jamie Widdowson 6-3,6-4.  The other singles match saw Ben Martin level things up for Pershore winning 6-4,1-6, 11-9 in  three close sets against Samuel Drinkwater.  The deciding doubles had some good rallies and again the sides seemed well matched but it was the home team that seemed to gain confidence and coped better in the wind and they closed out a 6-2,6-2 doubles win to take the match 2-1.

Thanks to the Worcester team for making us welcome, we look forward to a rematch sometime!
