A super match report from Chair and Ladies Captain, Sarah McCormick:

On Saturday,  Pershore Ladies 50’s Team travelled to Wimbledon to play The Wimbledon Club in the semi-finals of the National Inter-Club tournament. Out of 64 teams entered the Pershore team of Sarah McCormick, Beverley Morris, Emma Bowen and Janet Mason won through to the semi-finals with the winning team going through to represent Great Britain in the European finals. Unfortunately the Wimbledon club proved too strong and won 4-0. 

Emma & Beverley lost to 1st pair 2-6,1-6 and 2nd pair 2-6,3-6
Sarah & Jan lost to 1st pair 2-6, 1-6 and 2nd pair 3-6, 3-6
The Wimbledon Club’s team consisted of players that regularly represent England and their 1st pair included Clare Wood, former British number 1 who reached a world ranking high of 56!

It was a great experience and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves even though we lost!
