Club

Letter from our Chair

Dear Members,

Happy New Year to you all, I hope you all had a safe and healthy Christmas!

Our junior members have been very busy raising money for the club. Jon Guppy ran the "Around the World" challenge on 21st Dec and the event raised £1000 for our club re-surfacing Fund. Over  30 juniors ranging from 5-15 yrs old took part and managed to hit 25,000 balls over the net in 2 hrs. Great going! Many thanks to Jon and his family for organising this event and for all our helpers and participants.

During the Australian Open, Jon also ran a sweepstake competition on the Men's singles, which raised nearly £100, again for the resurfacing Fund. Jon hopes to run them for the other slams and include the Women's draw too if he gets enough interest!

If you are looking for a way to help the club then here are some up coming events that you could get involved in!

Seven club members are heading down to the National Tennis Centre, Roehampton in the early hours of Sunday 18th Feb to take part in Danny Sapsford's 24hr tennis marathon organized by Danny's charitable organization, Bright Ideas for Tennis. Each member is looking for sponsorship with 100% coming back to the club. If you are interested in donating then please follow the following link to our club donation page:

Coach Julian is doing a daring skydive on Wed 28th Feb, he has his own donation page:

Finally, we have our annual Quiz coming up on March 2nd so please check in the clubhouse for more details.

What a brilliant way to start the year, it makes me so proud to belong to such an energetic club! We have high goals for the club and hope to raise £50,000 over the next 2 years so that we can re-surface and improve the three remaining outdoor hard courts (#1,2 & 5).

Many thanks to everyone that has got involved, keep going you are making a huge difference to our club.

Many thanks!
