Hi all,

For those of you who are not yet aware, Jon Guppy has stepped down from his role as Junior Chairman and myself and Andy Robinson have taken over the mantel.  As well as taking on the Junior Chairman role I have also agreed to take on the running of the sweepstakes that Jon has run so brilliantly over the years.

Everything will remain the same (format, prize structure, cost etc), the only difference is that I will run the administration of it instead of Jon.

And with that may I please invite you all to compete in the first sweepstake of 2024, the Australian Open! 

The Men's and Women's draw begins on Mon 15th Jan, which is only a couple of weeks away so I urge you all to get your entries in quick.

How to Enter our Sweepstake

We will accept entries submitted by email to juniors@pershoretennis.co.uk or by text to my mobile 07868 591365.

Note: Please DON'T email reception@pershoretennis.co.uk

It is £10 entry per sweepstake. You can enter as many times as you wish for either Men's or Women's Singles events.

How the Sweepstakes Work

For each event there are 32 seeded players. Prior to the tournament start you'll be allocated a seeded player at random using my random number generator.

As the tournament progresses you root for your seeded player and hope that they can progress through the rounds. Prizes are given as follows:

Prize Money

We will award the following cash prizes:

£80 - Winner

£30 - Runner up

£20 - Lowest ranked seed still left in the competition at the semi-final stage

£20 - Lowest ranked seed still left in the competition at the quarter-final stage

£10 - Lowest ranked seed still left in the competition at the Round of 16 stage

Proceeds of the sweep go into our fundraising account and will be spent on improving facilities at the tennis club.

Can you please send that out via clubsparks to all members?  Also please let me know if I should make any amendments before sending it out to the DL list on the spreadsheet?  Also, how will I know who has paid as I don't have access to the PTC Bank Account?
