There will be no results of tournaments or league matches in this issue. The feeling of disappointment amongst our readers is palpable. Don’t despair as I have some very exciting news! As mentioned in the last issue, we will be having an Open Day. This will be held on Sunday 13th July, from 10am till 12.30pm, at the Leisure Centre. A banner outlining the details will be positioned at the Centre. We hope to encourage those who have perhaps not played in a while to come and see what we have to offer. I can cite my own experience in this regard. I had not played in quite a while, having previously been a member at John Player Tennis Club. My first connection with the Ravenshead club was at an Open Day. I was greeted by the now sadly departed Richard Page, who took me under his wing. He introduced me to other members and I was made to feel very welcome. Umpteen years later I’m still here, much to the chagrin of some members, I’ll wager.
