Calling all 14U girls. Tie Break Tens have partnered with the LTA & WTA and we are delighted to be offering a TB10 Challenger tournament for 16U & 14U girls at Reed’s Tennis School on Saturday 7th September at 3.30pm. You may have seen the professional version of Tie Break Tens – well this is the grass roots version. No games, no sets, just a match in which EVERY POINT COUNTS. In each age group the girls will play a Tiebreak tournament – first to ten points with two clear points. The exact tournament format will be decided based on number of entrants – it may be round robin or knockout, but we will give the girls extra matches as much as possible for practice. It’s a traditional tiebreak format with a few tweaks – at the start of each match, the players shall draw to decide who serves using the rock, paper, scissors method and there is a no let rule – so if the ball clips the net and then lands in the correct service box then the ball is considered in play.
