After a closely fought final match, the first Cwpan Y Gwylanod / Seagulls' Cup Community Five-a-Side Tournament was won by local building firm J Ellis Williams with a score of 2-1 over the GOLF R US team from the Anglesey Golf Club.

The event took place in torrential rain and high winds, so spectator numbers were low, but there was a warm welcome inside the clubhouse with hot drinks and fine selection of homemade cakes. Eight Rhosneigr teams took part with the Funsport and OysterCatcher teams also making through to the semi-finals. Referee, Len Davies and assistant referee Phil Ashburner praised the players for their good sportsmanship and conduct in challenging conditions. After the final whistle, Barry Edwards (Sports Development Officer at IOACC) presented the trophy and prizes over in the Golf Club where it was warm and dry!
The other teams taking part were SMHFC (SandyMount House), The Old Winstonians, Ice Cream Dream Team (Chaplins) and Wariars y Morfa (Y Mrrfa)
