Romsey & Abbey Tennis club recently held their regular American doubles tournament for members and non-members alike at Romsey Sports Centre. The event was managed and supervised by senior coach Ian Napleton. The format is a series of quick fire short sets where all players actively participate and accumulate points. The overall winners were Jim Philbin and Brian Whittaker who both received prizes for their efforts.

The event was fully subscribed with eighteen players participating on the four courts. Afternoon tea was provided prior to the final round of matches to be played. The American Tournament is one of a series of social events held by the Club including organised play periods and member run social sessions. 

Romsey & Abbey Tennis club is very much an inclusive and community focussed club and welcomes players of all ages, abilities and experience to either play impromptu tennis or join one of the more organised and structured coaching sessions which are run each week.
