The third Pickleball session was held on Thursday 24th March at 11am, led by Steve Barnett, Head Coach at RTC. Judging from the whoops of laughter and chatting heard from the players, it was a huge hit!
The game is played on a quarter of a tennis court with a wooden bat and hollow plastic ball which makes it slower than a regular tennis ball. “It feels like a cross between tennis and ping-pong, it is really good fun”, said one of the players.
“Pickleball is ideal for anyone who wants to start gentle exercise”, said Steve. “We will be running the course until April 14th, and are considering starting again on April 28th”.
The sessions are free to the community, so why not try this or the free Walking Tennis sessions on Saturdays at 1pm for a limited time.
