Coaching Update

As part of Paul's contract, every July we review the programme to discuss how everything is going, review the previous year and if appropriate set targets. We had our first review just recently and we're really positive about these early days and the longer term plan that Paul is developing. Some of you have been curious as to what Paul's allocated court time is through the week in the evenings so please read carefully below. This is a section copied directly from Paul's contract. If you have any questions please do get in touch.

Monday to Friday - 4pm to 6.30pm for junior coaching on up to 5 courts. The Club Coach may use 6 courts if there are no junior members not being coached at these times wishing to play.

Tuesday and Thursday - 6.30pm to 10pm on 2 courts. In the event of other courts not being used by members, (junior or senior) the Club Coach can use them.

On Monday evenings after 6.30pm the Club Coach may use up to 2 courts between September and April. 2 courts will be available throughout the year from 8pm to 10pm.

On Wednesday evenings after 6.30pm the Club Coach may use up to 2 courts between September and April. 2 courts will be available throughout the year from 8pm to 10pm.

Wednesday and Friday - Court 6 is available for the Club Coach to use from 8pm to 10pm. In the event of other courts being available, the Club Coach can use them.

Courts 4 & 5 replacement scheduled

At the last committee meeting we agreed that courts 4 and 5 will be replaced in the Spring of 2020. The exact dates and cost are still under negotiation but rest assured we will work hard to keep the disruption to your tennis to a minimum and we will try and get the best deal for the work to be carried out. We are also actively working towards a solution to the uneven bounces on the lower courts.

New Grounds Team Incoming

Unfortunately our groundsman Charles Cullen is no longer able to play tennis due to health reasons. Understandably he wants to give up the grounds work as well. I am very pleased to say that Sam Dandy and Joe Mellor will take over the grounds work which I'm sure you will agree is great news.  Sam will also potentially have some involvement in the coaching programme.

New Bike Rack!

We have invested in a new bicycle rack for our many members who travel to the club on their bikes. Please make use of it as it will help keep the place tidy and prevent any obstructions from people leaving their bikes near gates and on paths.

Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions, I will try and answer any queries and I welcome suggestions and ideas as to how we can make the club improve and evolve. However, I will not talk to anyone about tennis balls!
