News - January 2019

Hi everyone, I hope you are well and had a good Christmas and new year. Hopefully 2019 will bring happiness and health to you and all your friends and family. We are looking forward to what we hope will be another progressive year for the club.

In Memorandum

It is with great sadness that we have to inform you of the passing of two of our most influential members. Peter Sparling was club President in the 1980's and a honorary member.  He sadly died on the 10th January.

One of our most loyal and popular members, Stephanie Stockwell has also passed away. Steph really epitomised what our club is about and will be fondly remembered and sadly missed. She was very much a part of the fabric of the club and was extremely welcoming to new members in particular. There are no funeral details at the moment - if you would like to attend the funeral then please contact me personally and as soon as I know the details I will pass them onto you.

Team Player Survey

If you are interested in playing in any of the teams this season, please click the link below and fill in the survey. If you aren't sure if you are good enough or if you will have the time to play matches then fill it in anyway...this is important as it will give an indication as to what teams the club will be fielding in the summer.

Barkston Ash League Secretary Vacancy

After many years of administering the mixed league that we field 3 teams in, Steve Webser has sadly decided to step down as secretary of the league. He has fulfilled this role for many many years and I'd like to say "thank you" on behalf of the club for all his hard work. We wish him well in his retirement. If you are interested in taking over this important role, please do get in touch.

Wimbledon Opt-In

As previously mentioned don't forget to opt-in for WImbledon tickets! Even if you don't want to go yourself, the more people who opt in, the more tickets the club gets allocated.

Coaching Update

We have now concluded interviewing all the candidates and we will be making an announcement within the next week....

Thanks for all your support - your messages and words are appreciated and myself and the rest of the committee will continue to work tirelessly to give you, our members the best experience possible. It is hard work but the satisfaction we get from doing this is immense. If you have any questions about the club please do not hesitate to get in touch (however I will not discuss tennis balls under any circumstance).

Cheers, Chris
