Congratulations to our singles finalists

Ladies singles: Claire Crafter def. Della Gibson 6-4 6-3
Claire won the ladies singles taking 2 hard fought sets against Della, after storming to an early lead in the 1st set Della rallied and almost forced the set 5-5 before Claire came through and eventually held Della off despite another gritty performance in the 2nd set to take the match.  Well played Claire

Vets singles: Ben Gowland def. Jeremy Tuck 6-2 6-1
The vets singles had belonged to Jeremy for the last 5 years, however our new recruit Ben from Cambridge (who has just turned 'veteran') shook things up this year and after knocking Jeremy out in the Men's singles came through again to win in a match closer than the scoreline suggested.  

Mens singles: Andy Greenaway def. Nathan O'Looney 3-6 7-6 6-0
Drama is commonplace in the Men's singles, last year Andy lost having had 2 match points but this year it was Andy who came back from the dead after Nathan went 6-3 5-4 30-30, but couldn't get those last 2 points eventually succumbing in the tie-break before Andy completed the comeback.  A very good match with lots of attacking tennis on the new courts
