Padel Comes to Ryde Lawn

Ryde Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club are to construct two new all-weather padel courts – the first on the Island.

Padel is one of the fastest growing racket sports in the world and until now, the Island has been one of the only areas in the UK without padel courts. This is now about to change with construction due to be completed by the middle of April.

Guests, non- members and visitors to the Island will be able to book courts online. Membership is also available.

Construction has been made possible by a grant from Sport England and the Hampshire & Isle of Wight LTA Trust, a loan from the LTA (Lawn Tennis Association), Club funds and generous fundraising and financial support from members.

The Groundbreaking Ceremony took place on Saturday 22 February and was undertaken by Joe Robertson MP with Joel Smith and Toby Trotman - two of our talented teenage players. This was a significant day in the 120-year history of the club and marked the start of this exciting project.
