On Sunday 3rd October Sawbridgeworth Tennis Club held its Summer Tennis Closed Tournament Finals.
The weather was kind offering pleasant playing conditions.
The story of the day in the singles was that, experience overcame youth.
Men’s singles final
Jinit Shah beat Will Jeffries a 15 year old BS College student 6/1 6/0
Jinit’s consistent game thwarted Will’s expansive attacking intentions offering up several draining entertaining rallies
Will will learn from this experience and will be a force in the coming years.
Ladies singles final
Michelle Cooper beat Charlotte Pressley 14 years of age 6/1 6/0
Charlotte started off aggressively hitting peerless winners and looking a threat to Michelle’s skilful and comprehensive game.
Michelle used a pattern of play which took control of the match. Charlotte created opportunities but could not take advantage
Charlotte will be a stronger force next year.
