Courts Renovation News!

The Community of Seend, Wiltshire, is today celebrating the news that Seend Tennis Club has received a £10,000 funding boost from The Hills Group Limited. The money has been made available through the Landfill Communities Fund (LCF) which is administered for Hills by Community First, the Rural Community Council for Wiltshire. This support has made viable the project to refurbish the courts at Seend. This project is well underway with the courts scheduled to reopen in late June. The courts will be available for public use and for the use of club members, i.e. for everyone to enjoy. There will be a BBQ and official opening of the courts at the Lye Field on Friday 12th July at 6.30pm to celebrate the centenary of Seend Tennis Club. The resurfacing and perimeter fencing repairs have been made possible by donations from individuals, Hills Recycling, The Lye Recreation Field, the Parish Council, Area Board, WASP and from savings accumulated by Seend Tennis Club. In order to complete Phase 2 of the renovations we hope to raise a further £3000. This will contribute towards the installation of the new SmartGate and to a wheelchair access path to the courts from the carpark.
