Would you like to help your tennis club by offering to stand for one of the committee posts?

Potential new committee members can now put themselves forward for election at the March Annual General Meeting. Wednesday March 22nd 7.30pm.

This is a great way to get involved in the running of the club, and a great way of giving something back.

We are actively looking for members who would like to take the club forward into the next decade.

Your present committee has guided the club for many years, and it is time for some fresh eyes, hands and legs, some new ideas, and, above all, an ongoing desire to secure and enhance this great Tennis Club that we love.

We have various position holders. They have responsibility for making sure that some aspect of running a Tennis Club is carried out. The current positions are:

Chairman 

Overall running of the club; co-ordination of overall policy development and implementation; management of coaching partners; liaison with Huddersfield and District Tennis League

Treasurer 

Monitoring income and expenditure; payments for utilities and insurance; preparation of annual accounts; financial planning

Secretary 

Club administration, liaison with LTA and Yorkshire LTA

Membership

Membership inquiries; membership administration

Publicity – VACANT

Members newsletter; social media, website; advertising and promotion

Help is required with updating the tennis club website. The person needs to be familiar with websites and ideally have some photoshop experience and SEO knowledge. Also able to liaise with members of the committee to obtain the necessary information.

Maintenance

Maintenance of courts, court fencing and nets; maintenance of clubhouse; maintenance of court floodlights and clubhouse lighting; video-surveillance equipment; upkeep of garden

Match Secretary - Fixtures - VACANT

Co-ordinator for all club teams playing in Huddersfield and District Tennis League; Appointment of all team captains; Arranging dates and venues for all fixtures and in conjunction with team captains rearrangements in the event of rain.

Social - VACANT

Planning, development and co-ordination of a programme of social events

Welfare

Taking the lead role in safeguarding children; Ensuring that the Club policies for Safeguarding, Diversity, Inclusion and Safety comply with LTA standards

Captain – VACANT

Monitor, encourage and promote the playing of tennis at the club; Particular responsibility for the development of playing opportunities for both new and experienced players; and playing opportunities in roll-up, pre-arranged and team formats; Running the annual club knock-out championship
