Welcome to the Start of the 2026 Season at South Creake Tennis Club

As the new tennis season begins, there's a real sense of anticipation building and lots of activity going on in the background. The courts have been carefully prepared over the spring, and they're now in excellent condition - nearly ready for rallies, matches, and plenty of good‑natured competition. A huge thank‑you goes to Chairman Sebastian Brunt and Committee Members Nick Sandford and Brian Charlesworth for the pre‑season work; your time and effort make all the difference.

Coaching returns this year with a Sunday programme for juniors and adults alike, starting on Sunday 21st June. Whether you're picking up a racquet for the first time or sharpening your match play, there's something for every level. We're excited to see new players joining the sessions and familiar faces returning.

Our events calendar is already shaping up to be a highlight of the summer. From friendly tournaments to social gatherings, we hope these moments bring the whole community together both on and off the court. More details are below

And of course, Wednesday Club Night remains at the heart of South Creake Tennis Club. It's the perfect weekly chance to play mixed doubles, meet other members, and enjoy relaxed, sociable tennis as the evenings get lighter.

Courts will be open soon, with the sun and dry weather back today after some rain this week, we hope to confirm a date next week

Membership is now open on our website, starting at Adult Membership for £45 and the Whole Household package, which includes everyone at your address, at just £75 for all of you

As a member you are entitled to unlimited free use of the courts throughout the season

We do have an active Whatsapp Group for members, useful for quickly communicating updates on club nights, coaching and other short notice updates. If we have your mobile phone number, you will automatically be added to the group (but please feel free to leave if you don't want updates on Whatapp!)

Club Night

Club nights will be starting soon, on Wednesdays from 6pm - all abilities welcome

There will be a slight change to the format of club nights this year, with one court being used only for intermediates and above and the other court being used by all comers. We want to encourage all standards of play and make this a fun evening for everyone, whilst at the same time giving better players the chance to play together at a more competetive standard. We look forward to seeing you all.

Once Club Night starts, we're delighted that Lisa and the team at The Ostrich are keen to support us and will be laying on some delicious free Pizza's for us at the end of play, for anyone wanting to extend the evening over a post match drink. You may be aware that The Ostrich has gone through a transformation since closing last year and is now thriving under new ownership, please support them!

Coaching

We are delighted to let you know that we have signed up TOM MANNING as coach once again for this season. He is an LTA Level 2 coach who ran sessions last season at South Creake for both children and adults. These were hugely popular and we are thrilled he is available for this season. The sessions will be held on SUNDAY MORNINGS starting at 10am, with 2 children's sessions until 1200 and Adult coaching from 12-1

It's anticipated that coaching will start in late June, we'll confirm nearer the time and hope to start with a mid June Adults only coached session and social event

We will once again be giving children a FREE Junior Coaching Pass for South Creake residents. A Junior Coaching Pass for those outside the village is also available at £20.00. This will entitle up to four juniors from one family to attend our popular group coaching sessions throughout the season FREE and participate in some other club activities.

If your children are attending free coaching, we'd love your help with this please, as we have to provide an adult at these sessions for safeguarding purposes. Please let us know if you could volunteer to join the rota to help us with this.

July - local tennis clubs invitational matches (TBC)

July 19th - Burn Valley Vineyard Club Tournament and Social Event

August 9th - Pre Hunstanton warm up (for those playing at Hunstanton Tournament - non members welcome)

August 30th - End of Season Childrens Tournament

We're delighted to let you know that Burn Valley Vineyard have agreed to sponsor our Club Tournament on Sunday 19th July. This is open to all abilities and will be followed by a Drinks and Canapes Party (seperate tickets also available for non players) More information, tickets and entries will go live in late May

A couple of polite reminders  - please ensure that you wear appropriate shoes for playing

And if you have booked a court, please don't play if it's wet

And lastly - if you are a member playing with Guests - please remember that they need to pay £5 per person (unless you have whole household plus guests membership)
