Tennis to start again from March 29

We are delighted to announce that tennis will be back at Southwell Tennis Club from 29 March after the Government published its roadmap for the easing of lockdown restrictions.

This will mean that the courts will be open from this date and recreational tennis will be able to take place once more, including singles and doubles, subject to the rule of six.

Social distancing will need to be maintained before, during and after all activity along with regular hand-sanitising. Our clubhouse will remain closed apart from visiting the toilet, collecting equipment or turning on the lights.

Our social sessions and group coaching can also resume but we are currently awaiting guidance on the maximum group size and court limits. We should know more in the coming weeks.

For the latest guidance, visit the LTA website.

Similarly, while competitions will once again be allowed, we are waiting for the specific guidelines to be confirmed.

We will be updating our risk assessment and publishing it on our website once we know more detail. Keep visiting our website for further details about any updates to guidance.

Courts are likely to be busy initially so we would recommend booking or checking availability before going down.

Finally, we look forward to seeing you all on the courts once again in the not too distant future.
