It’s with a heavy heart we have to inform you all that last night 22/05/2023 our club president Dave Williams passed away.
Dave was instrumental back in 1979 in getting Plymouth council to reopen the old Verna Road courts, expand them and re naming them St Budeaux Tennis Club. Dave was also heavily involved for years in the running of the Plymouth & District Tennis league, and most recently was recognised with a lifetime award for his services to tennis in Devon.
Dave leaves behind Joan and family, and he will be sorely missed at the club and the local community as a whole. Even in his late 80s and into his 90s he was down the club watching club finals days, presenting the awards and laughing at how bad the tennis had gotten since he retired from playing.
