Following the very sad news of the death of Kris Pratt, we want to honour the huge contribution she made to the club over very many years by holding the Kris Pratt Trophy mixed doubles tournament on Sunday, Sept. 3, starting at 10 a.m.

This will be an all-day event run as an American style tournament. Ideally, we will have an even number of men and women playing. A maximum of 8 men and 8 women. It will be a very sociable event with refreshments served throughout the day and will hopefully be a fitting tribute to Kris.

There will be a collection for Kris's charities. I believe these are the RSPCA (we all know how much she loved her doggies), and Marie Curie who do so much to support cancer sufferers and their families.

I do hope that members will come to the courts to take part, or just to watch and enjoy a chat and a cake or two.
