Thank you to everyone who competed in this year's Club Championships, we had a truly lovely day for Finals Day and there were some really challenging games.

Play started at 10 am with the ladies and mens’ drawn doubles, - Sally Thorne and Lucy Hamilton eventually got the better of Linda Arbury and Lucy Calver, with a deciding tie break in the second set.  In the Men’s Drawn Doubles, Paul Bingley-Hall was delighted to be on court with John Callender for a club final for the first time. Syed Rahman and Paul Hocking were successful in this match over two sets.

Ladies Singles proved to be a good game between Lucy Calver and Lucy Hamilton, with Lucy Hamilton being victorious,
The Men’s singles was a hard fought battle and well appreciated by the member spectators present  - Henry Callender was eventually overcome by Syed Rahman in a championship tie breaker after scoring one set all.  In the Chosen Mixed Doubles a  two set victory was achieved by Linda Arbury and John Callender against Sue Groom and Paul Hocking.
The afternoon conclude with the Ladies Chosen Doubles, and the two Lucys - Calver and Hamilton, teamed up and took on Sue Groom and Linda Arbury. The outcome was determined in two sets with ‘the Lucys’ the winners.  

Special thanks to Sue Groom who sourced and provided the fabulous Ploughman’s Lunch for those attending, and to Debbie Karydis, Sally Thorne and Tony Noone’s partner Jen’s daughter Lois who donated fabulous cakes and cookies for the Finals Lunch. A true lunch of Champions!
