Dear all
The sun had his hat on in February so let’s pretend today is still as glorious, and hope we are headed for a lovely Spring.. We have had 1 new adult tennis member sign up this month, and hope to see more as we enter into the new club year from 1st April. Here are the highlights from the last month:
Juniors: Spring Club & Coach kicked off yesterday and I am delighted to report that the numbers have crept back up and we have 9 juniors booked for this season.
Tennis Leagues: Please email Malcolm Finnie malcolm.finnie2018@gmail.com if you are interested in playing in competitions. He has entered both men’s and ladies’ teams and is keen to get pairings finalised.
Social: Tennis & Pétanque members blew the dust off their box games and gathered at the clubhouse on 23rd for a friendly “Games Night”. There were games of Linkee (trying to identify a connection to a group of questions that appeared unrelated) and cribbage, then a game of answering three simple questions in 5 seconds i.e. pizza toppings. After a couple of drinks not as easy as it sounds… Well done Sharon and look out for further Games Nights.
Coming up in March: Quiz Night is scheduled for Saturday, 23rd March. A separate note will follow but please get your teams of up to 6 in ASAP. The AGM is taking place at 8pm on Monday 11th March. Cheese and wine will be provided along with a financial, membership, social and community report. Please come along and socialise – let us know if you can so we can cater accordingly.
Miscellaneous: Cladish in Wallington have agreed to offer a 10% discount to our members on non-sale items in Clothing, Accessories and Footwear; be sure to quote SHTPC.
