Matches and how to start playing competitive tennis
Playing matches and entering tournaments is a great way to test what you have learnt in your lessons.
The easiest way to get started is to play a fun match against a friend or fellow club member. It doesn't matter if you win or lose, it's more about learning to play in a competitive environment and you will find that the more you play, the more you will win. Start out by playing some matches on the T2O Junior Leaderboard or the T2O Tennis Adult Leaderboard as these are all internal matches.
There are also many LTA tournaments available to play in, almost every single week of the year, for both Juniors and Adults. Anyone can enter, as long as you have a British Tennis Membership Number, which is free if you are a member of an LTA-registered tennis club.
You can also enter the Wraysbury LTC Annual Club Championships which take place every June/July for both Adults and Juniors. Check the Events page for all current internal competitons at the club.
Playing in a Team Tennis competition is a fun way to get competing and you can play with your friends against other tennis clubs in your area. At Wraysbury LTC we have 3 Adult Teams and 12 Junior Teams.
