Welcome to the 2023/24 season; hopefully you have already managed to get out on court. There are a few items we would like to update you on as follows: Social We are holding our Meet the Members Social Event at the club this Friday 19th May from 6pm. Members of the club of all ages and their guests are welcome for an evening of socialising with other new and seasoned members. This event should provide an opportunity for you to meet other members / families to play tennis with at the club and to make some more friends in the village, all whilst enjoying a few drinks! We are planning to organise some fun competitions for juniors of all ages on Court 1 and Adults can mix in on Court 2. We will have a BBQ selling hot dogs but please bring your own alcohol / soft drinks and don’t forget to bring some plastic glasses! Coaching There is currently availability in the Ladies Beginners/Intermediates Group Coaching Sessions which are held at the club on Mondays from 11-12 and 12-1 run by All Court Tennis Academy. Mixed American We are planning to hold a Mixed ‘American Doubles Competition’ on the morning of Sunday 25th June from 10am. This will be an opportunity to play some competitive tennis and socialise with other members whilst having some fun! The competition is open to all standards and will involve people playing multiple short sets and mixing and matching with different partners. The number of participants will be limited to 16 individuals for this event so if you are interested in taking part in this competition please email tarporleytennisclub@hotmail.com to register – places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. The cost of entry for this competition will be £2 to be paid on the day. Security Please can we remind you to ensure all doors are securely shut and gates locked when leaving the premises as there have been some instances recently when the side gate to the courts has been left open.
