It was a winning weekend for both of Lancashire’s 14 & Under Teams as both our boys and girls won their groups in the 2021 LTA County Cup.

The 14 & Under Girls competed on home soil at St Anne’s Tennis & Squash Club under the guidance of captain Sabrina Federici and got off to a winning start with a 6-0 victory over neighbours Cheshire.  In the second match of the event against Northumberland, the tie finished three matches each following the singles and doubles before Lancashire were victorious in the doubles shoot-out decider. 

The group was won on the final day as Lancashire secured a 6-0 victory over Durham & Cleveland to finish top of the group.  Well done to the team of Lily Harper, Olivia Highton, Mariam Meftah, Freya Peet, Shanice Tanoh and Isla Weir.

At the same time, the Lancashire 14 & Under Boys travelled to Wrexham Tennis Centre and came home with the title following victories in all their matches in the one day event.

The day started with a 4-0 win over host North Wales and then was followed up with a 4-0 win over Cheshire.  Due to the rain delays, all dead rubbers including doubles were not played.
