Well done to our 10 & Under Girls & Boys County Cup teams who took part in the LTA events in Scotland last weekend. 

10 & Under Girls Team - Captain Sarah Hillier , Assistant Laura Hardman

Players - Kendra Olowu, Ava Ormes, Martha Senior, Tilly Taylor, Orla Thompson and Lennie Walker.

The girls took the long trip to Craiglockhart Tennis Centre on Friday and were raring and ready to go on Saturday morning taking on West of Scotland first. The girls after a shakey start soon got into it with the score 3-1 Lancashire after the singles. The team then played North of Scotland racing to a 4-0 lead. The West of Scotland doubles followed with Lancashire winning both those to finish with  a 5-1 win. The team then went back to the hotel to prepare for another day in sunny Edinburgh. 

Sunday morning saw the girls finish the North of Scotland tie with both teams winning 1 doubles meaning the final score was 5-1. Lancashire then took on Cumbria knowing that a win would seal their place at teh National Finals - North. The team started strong a 4-0 singles result followed by 2 doubles wins to finish 6-0.

Well done to the girls and their parents who head to the National Finals - North at Boston Tennis Centre, Lincolnshire next month.

10 & Under Boys Team - Captain Ella Taylor , Assistant Chris Ablewhite

Players -  Oliver De Lange, Jan Kochanek, Charlie Ouyang, Samson Sparrow, Samuel Wong.

The boys arrived at Dumfries Tennis Club on Friday arriving to glorious sunshine. The team made a strong start on Saturday morning with a 6-0 win against East of Scotland. The boys then went on to play  West of Scotland with the score poised at 3-1 Lancashire over night. The team knew they needed to win 1 out of the 2 doubles on Sunday morning .

The team made were given a walkover on Sunday morning and then Charlie and Samson lost a tight match tie 10-12 leaving a final score of 4-2 to Lancashire.  The last team to play before the long drive home was South of Scotland the boys won convincingly 6-0!

Well done to the boys and their parents who head to the National Finals - North at Wirral Tennis Centre, next month.
