Well done to our 14 & Under Boys County Cup teams who took part in the LTA event at St Annes Tennis & Squash Club last weekend. 

14 & Under Boys Team - Captain Andy Watt , Assistant Gabriel Belibi

Players - Luca Anders, Alfred Belfrage, Robert Belfrage, Max Heaton, Samuel De Lange and Aidan Thayer. 

The boys played South of Scotland and Cumbria on Saturday with us being 3-1 up after the singles had taken place in both ties. Samuel and Aidan won their doubles matches to make the final score in each tie 4-2 Lancashire. 

Sunday saw the boys take on North of Scotland and Northumberland.  North of Scotland were the team to beat, Lancashire were 3-1 down after the singles with 3 of the matches going to mat tie breaks, one which Lancashire won and one which we lost. North of Scotland also had very good doubles pairings with the final score being 1-5 North of Scotland. Northumberland was the last team to play with the team knowing they needed to win to finish 2nd in the group.  After the singles matches the tie was drawn at 2-2, the doubles matches both went to match tie breaks with Lancashire winning both to achieve a final score of 4-2 Lancashire.

The team finished second! Well done to all the players and parents who came to support.

Good luck to the Lancashire Girls team who qualified straight to the finals which takes place at Nottingham Tennis Centre 16th-18th May.
