It was a successful weekend for the Lancashire 11 & Under Girls Team who travelled to Glasgow and came home with qualification for next month's national finals in the LTA County Cup.
In the first year of this new age group, the team of Isabella Holland, Sophia Lugr, Amber-Louise Sarr, Tiana Vrajitoriu, Ruby Williams and Daisy Wootton faced all of the Scottish counties on their trip north of the border to the clay courts of Hillhead Sports Club.
Opening day victories over West of Scotland (4-2) and North of Scotland (5-1), were followed up on the second day with 6-0 wins against East of Scotland and then a win over South of Scotland to take top spot in the group and secure a place in next month's National Finals in Sheffield. Well done to all the players who all played their part in the team's success.

At the same time, Lancashire's 11 & Under Boys Team were in action on home soil at St Anne's Tennis & Squash Club. After a very competitive weekend, the team narrowly missed out on winning the group and finished in second place.
Having gone 2-0 down in the opening match against North of Scotland, Lancashire's boys turned it around and sealed a 4-2 comeback victory. This was followed up with a 5-1 win against neighbours Cumbria leaving Lancashire needing one more win to reach the National Finals.
In a very close final day showdown, Lancashire narrowly missed out to East of Scotland losing 4-2. The match was in the balance at 2-2 after the singles but the visitors from Scotland sealed their win in the doubles by the finest of margins.
Well done to full Lancashire team of Stanislav Bogdanovic-Brewer, Alex Ingham, Jai Kochhar, Oliver Nicholls, Sam Tyrer and Nathan Wilson on a great weekend's tennis.
