Our 10 & Under Girls team had a great weekend at the County Cup National Finals - North after qualifying at Uddingston Tennis Club, Glasgow in May.   The event saw the top 5 Counties in the North compete against each other for the title.

The teams first match on Saturday morning was against local rivals Yorkshire, the players were prepared for a tough battle but started really strong winning all the 4 singles matches, we then won 1 and lost 1 doubles match to give a final results of 5-1 Lancashire! A great start for the  girls. Next up South Wales which turned out to be our toughest match. 2 wins and 2 loses in singles meant it was all down to the doubles! 2 tough duobles matches one match tie break loss and one match tie break win match it was 3-3, a match shoot out to 10 points to decide the winner! Ellie and Kendra stepped up to the challenge and won 14-12! After a intense day it was time to go home for a rest before battling against Cheshire and Durham & Cleveland on Sunday. 

Sunday morning saw more tough matches but with great resilence and fight from the girls we beat Cheshire without losing a match which gave the team confidence and renewed fight against the last match of the weekend which we knew the team needed to win to be crowned Champions! A win is what they got 4-2 Lancashire!

Lancashire are Champions, a great effort from all the girls, parents and captains after a great weekend of close matches. Well done everyone!
