BBQ #1. Stavros serves up some greek delights...

What a night that was. Our very own Steve 'The Greek' Demosthenous was serving up the delicious kebabs with help from Midori and others. Jim, Damien and myself wrestled with the Moretti behind the bar, with the help from Chris from the bowls club. We managed to raise a few quid for the club whilst having a jolly good ol time. PS Steve is a LEGEND!

BBQ#2. Peace time talks with The Bowls Club...

Not to be out-done, Jan 'The Sausage Man' donned the bbq apron strings and set upon sizzling up the bratwurst on our newly acquired BBQ (Yet to be named - prizes for the best name email here). This was a joint social event with the bowls club to try and smooth over relations between the once warring states. Much like the Christmas truce of 1914 (in which Paul McCartney scored) a game of bowls was played and we settled our differences. Another great night :)

Steve Nannery Trophy - who gets to go through to "The  Finals"

It will be Jim Smith & Maria Lawton vs Nikki Jackson & Xan Varmuza* in the mixed doubles final on TTC Finals day - details to be released soon. Thanks again to The Tournament Team (Anna Roubo, Louise James & Midori Fachiri) for organising such a great tournament on a belting hot day.

Refugee Resource Ladies Doubles competition

As head organiser and all-round good samaritan Nikki Jackson was there that day, I’ll let her tell the story…
“On Friday 23rd June we held a tournament in aid of Refugee Resource, Oxford.  It was an excellent morning of hard fought tennis - there were only 5 games difference between all the final score cards! We had glorious sunshine, fun and laughter. Many thanks to all who took part, to those who helped me to organise, to the delicious cake makers, and to Thame Tennis Club for hosting us and donating the balls. It was lovely to gather with other keen tennis players from the area and show them how fabulous Thame Tennis Club and the new club house is - they couldn’t believe we have such a gem tucked away in the centre of Thame.”
Thanks Nikki. I think we all agree that we are lucky to have such charitable folk here at TTC!

...and finally, the carnival day parade day

It was another beautiful day for our troops to don newly branded TTC T-shirts and split-step their way down Thame High Street to the Wimbledon Theme tune - (socials organiser Emily insisted on the young uns to carry our not-so-light speaker). Thanks to Nicky, Helen, Jan, Emily, Harry, Oliver, Mark and the ‘young crew’ for organising and actioning such an eventful day.
