Guidelines for Play – 29th March 2021

Key Principles

These Guidelines are intended to keep you and everyone else safe while at the Tennis Club.  You must not attend the Club if you have any symptoms or been in contact with anyone with symptoms of Covid-19, these are currently recognised as a high temperature, a new continuous cough, a loss or change to the sense of taste or smell and you should follow the advice given on the NHS and Government website. The club must be informed if a member develops symptoms.

1 The Guidelines are produced following guidance from the Government and the LTA.  They will be updated regularly

2 All court usage and social sessions must be pre-booked, no ad hoc use of the courts is allowed. Please do not turn up at the club without pre booking a court, a social session or have coaching arranged. Members only until further notice.

3 Group coaching of up to 15 minis/juniors per court plus coaches. One spectator only per junior/mini player, if necessary, who must be off court and strictly observing social distancing guidelines. No other spectators allowed.

4 Adults who are supervising juniors playing other juniors (not in coaching sessions) should remain on court with them

5 Singles and Doubles play with players from separate households is permitted whilst observing social distancing guidelines.

6 Social sessions: Members cannot turn up and play unless they have pre booked through Clubspark. Social distancing guidelines must be adhered to.

7 Informal social play group size is limited to a maximum of 6 people by law

Court Bookings

1 All courts must be booked through Clubspark and participants names added

2 Social sessions must be booked through Clubspark

3 Bookings can only be made by Club members

4 Maximum of 6 players on court at any one time

Booking Rules

1 Members can book up to two consecutive sessions on any one day.  Their playing partner is not then allowed to book the following session. It is very important to supply the names of everyone who is on court with you.

Play

Wash your hands before you come to the Club, and again immediately you return home.

2 Arrive at the Club no more than 5 minutes before the start of your session and leave immediately afterwards.

3 Use Alcohol Gel sanitiser if possible after touching any court gates, padlocks etc

4 You must arrive changed and ready to play, the Clubhouse changing rooms will not be open

5 Do not share equipment (eg rackets, hats, and towels) or food and drink

6 Clean and wipe down your equipment before and after use

7 Players do not need to use their own marked balls, however if you choose to use shared balls then extra care must be taken not to touch your face during play and clean hands before and immediately after play

8 Allow others to leave the Court before you enter it, ensuring you are always at least 2 metres away from everyone else

9 Nets are at the correct height

10 While you are on court, always remain at least 2 metres apart.  Consider not changing ends, do not make physical contact with anyone else, and stay off neighbouring courts while they are in use, minimise any contact with other surfaces, eg gates, nets, and other equipment

11 After your session ends, leave the court promptly to allow the next people to enter safely.

12 Lock gates and sanitise hands immediately

13 Leave the Club immediately. Take all rubbish home with you

Clubhouse

The Clubhouse is now open for use of the toilet facilities only and to access the floodlights box. Please use sanitiser on entering and only 2 people in the clubhouse at a time. Please observe social distancing and hygiene guidelines. The kitchen and changing room are off limits and will remain closed until further notice.

NHS Test and Trace

To support NHS Test and Trace, the club must keep a temporary record of all on site for 21 days - you must add all participants when booking a court.
