Club Update

Dear All,

As you are aware the Government and LTA have announced a limited and restricted reopening of Tennis Clubs from Wednesday 13th May. In light of this change the tennis committee have agreed to partially reopen the facilities on the strict understanding that everyone follows the Government and LTA guidelines regarding safety and social distancing.

So we are delighted to announce that as from 09.00, Thursday 14th May the courts will be open.

For the time being, this will be for MEMBERS ONLY.  We are currently working alongside ClubSpark to enable us to offer guests of members the opportunity to pay and play.

Attached and below are guidelines to how the return to restrictive play will run. Please take time to read them.

Courts must be booked in advance. Once you have booked a court you are required to email the club who the other member(s) are that you will be on court with.

All bookings must be done through ClubSpark - https://clubspark.lta.org.uk/TheydonBoisLawnTennisClub  You can also download the ClubSpark booker app to book your court which is available from your phone's appropriate app store.

For the avoidance of doubt, the club is closed to everyone, unless you have a court or a coaching session booked.  Please do not just turn up. There are no social sessions until further notice.

Initially, in order to make it fair to all, fully paid up members will be able to book a maximum of two hours per day, three times a week or 6 x 1 hour slots. The person you are playing with is not allowed to book the following session.  If you are playing on a court that you have not booked and a member arrives who has, you will be expected to leave immediately.  Sanitising as necessary.  We imagine the courts will be in high demand and want to give everyone a chance to book and play.  This system will be reviewed as necessary.

Once you have booked your court, you will receive a confirmation e-mail.

For Covid19 Test & Trace, you must e-mail prior to playing the details of who you are on court with to theydontennismembership@gmail.com

  • The nets are set at the correct height, please do not touch them.
  • You must finish your match, whatever the score, 10 minutes before the end of the hour to enable you to sanitise and leave the club grounds before the next members arrive.  Please take all of your rubbish home with you.
  • Both doubles and singles play is permitted with other members not in you household, as long as social distancing is followed, and players must supply their own individually marked tennis balls.  No spectators are permitted.
  • Please note for Mini/Junior Members, only one parent is included in their membership.  You will need to nominate your parent/guardian prior to playing at the club. Supervision of a junior / mini member is allowed.
  • You must arrive changed and ready to play.  Do not share any equipment, food or drink.  Please arrive no more than 5 minutes before your allotted time and please leave the club as soon as your game has finished.  Do not congregate in the car park.
  • Consider not changing ends.
  • Do not make physical contact with anyone else and stay off of the neighbouring courts while they are in use.
  • If you wish to use the REBO Wall, you will need to book court 6.

The clubhouse will not be in use for any purpose other than emergency first aid when club coaches are in attendance. Toilets are closed until further notice.

Floodlights are out of action.

We have issued these guidelines from those supplied to us by the LTA.  As soon as we are made aware of any changes we will let you all know immediately once we have been able to put the new format into place.

Looking forward to seeing you all back up and playing.
