On Sunday Thornden were host of the Solent Cup! This is a competition between the winners of the Portsmouth Winter League  (mens and ladies) and the Southampton League . On the men's side we had Warsash v Warsash and on the ladies side we had Winchester v Chichester. The matches were all really great to watch and played in a good spirit. It was a little bit breezy but otherwise perfect conditions. Warsash won in the mens (!) I'm not actually sure wether their Portsmouth or Southampton component won ! Chichester ladies put up a good fight but were beaten by a very strong Winchester side.  The Cup is the brainchild of Michael Isaacs who runs the Portsmouth league- he provided a lovely tea for the players and did a brilliant presentation with Geoff Prince  with trophies for all the participants and huge trophies for the winners.

Thanks to everyone who helped out : Julie, Jackie, Inger, Janet and Sam and get well soon to those who couldn't help out but were willing !

Hopefully next year one of our teams will be competing!
