Born from the hugely successful coaching programme that Tom has developed at Bethersden Tennis Club since 2000, the number of venues that now use Tom and his team of coaches has increased over the years.
Tom helped launch and run the East Kent Tennis Academy for a number of years, creating better links between the tennis clubs in East Kent and working closely with the LTA to establish a clear performance pathway for players for the region.
Tom also worked, part time for 3 years at Canterbury Indoor Tennis Centre, helping develop the thriving programme that it now boasts.
Throughout this time, the priority was always to make Bethersden Tennis Club as successful as possible and as the programme and numbers improved, Tom decided to work full time at the Club. Over the years, the Coaching Team has developed, with juniors coming through and developing and qualifying as coaches.
Other Clubs, Schools, local authorities and venues were keen to use the experience and knowledge of the coaches and with this came a huge increase in the number of adults and juniors playing in and around the Ashford and Tenterden area.
Our Team of Coaches are all LTA qualified, CRB / DBS checked and first aid trained. Continual Professional Development is encouraged and regular coach meetings ensure any issues that need attention are flagged up, and players are directed towards the most suitable groups and lessons.
'To Help More People Enjoy and Improve Their Tennis'
ETHOS / CORE VALUES
'Honesty, Professionalism and Teamwork' are our core values and we try to ensure that they run through all we do.
Hard work, fair play and 'doing the basic things well' are at the forefront of all lessons.
Players learn that the more that they put in to sessions, the more that they will get out, and concentrating on things that they can do to give themselves the best chance is vital.
