On Sunday 27th October the Warwickshire Mens O50s team competed against Surrey, in the playoffs.

Captains Report

Unfortunately, we were unsuccessful in our O50s Finals match against Surrey, losing 4-1. 

Although, we had a couple of great performances from Peter Hodgson and Andy Pickin. Peter was beaten in a close 2 set match which could have gone either way. Andy was our only point scorer on the day, winning on a champs tie-breaker.  Peter and Andy teamed up to play a close fought doubles, just losing out in two tight sets. Unfortunately, I managed to injure my Achilles in the 3rd game of the match, and as much as John B tried to cover single-handed, Surrey were just too strong. 

I’d just like to give a mention, if possible, to the other players who have contributed in playing for the O50s team this year and helping us to reach the finals, namely... Andrew Cowden, Jon Hofstetter, Ian Watson, Martin Recci and Richard Santy. And also for the WLTA for supporting the team…the team kit was well received by the players and we definitely looked the best there, even if we weren’t triumphant!
